One of our favorite releases from 2013 was Piers Paul Read's MONK DAWSON (1969), a book some of you might have missed. It won both the Somerset Maugham Award (best novel by a writer under 35) and the Hawthornden Prize (best work of imaginative fiction) and secured Read's place as one of the brightest stars of his generation. Fans of our vintage gay-themed fiction will also find it of interest (don't be scared off by the dread epithet of 'Catholic novel'.) If you've read this or any of Read's others, leave a comment and let us know what you thought!
